This weekend kicks off with a great double bill from London’s Dry the River and local songsmith Kris Orlowski at the Tractor this Saturday night. Both bands are touring on the release of new records, Kris with Believer earlier this year, and Dry the River having put out Alarms in the Heart just a few months ago.
I’d like to go ahead and put the focus on next week, mainly a show at the Neptune on Halloween night. Courtney Barnett is back in town after her July performance with Sharon Van Etten, and is bringing along one of my favorite new artists, Mikhael Paskalev. He’ll be releasing his second EP, Sayonara Saigon, on Mom+Pop Records next week. Ahead of that, get a full dose of Paskalev’s up-tempto, cinematic songwriting with a Take Away show of the title track Sayonara Saigon below.
